“9 To 5” is a classic 1980’s office musical with a lot of costumes! I worked on a lot of the ensemble costumes and a few garments for one of the main characters, Doralie.
The rosette ensemble costumes are built with rayon and cotton collar and cuffs. The dresses have a zipper up the back for quick changes and elastic cuffed buttons.
The cow boy ensembles are made of a short pile faux fur. The girls skirts are half circles with zippers in the side seams. The vest are fully lined with black cotton. The fringe and stars are applied after the vests are finished for versatility.
For Doralie I built two outfits.
Denim eyelet princess seamed dress with a pink floral false blouse installed into the dress. The dress has a zipper up the back and the false blouse has workable buttons up the front.
The white blouse is made of cotton eyelet with cotton flat lining. The neckline and sleeve hem has a cotton lace trim. The blouse closes with a side under the sleeve with a zipper.
The pink gingham skirt is a lined half circle made of a scuba knit. There is inseam pockets and a center back zipper.
